Pockets are a gamechanger in outfits, and no less so in the window shading industry.
We are constantly talking about the extremes of heat issues - a home/room is either overheating, or it is uncomfortably cold, due to the quality or quantity of glass in the space
The solution is to cover the glazing.
And, if the cover you use has a layer (creating a pocket between the front and back) that pocket will trap heat and hold it in situ - outside when you are overheating, and inside when you are cold.
Many products have a layered effect- something as simple as a lined curtain or roman blind has one pocket, up to the sophisticated Luxaflex Duette Architella which has a unique three pocket structure.
You can also look at choosing something with a bigger pocket - for example, Duette cellular blinds are 25mm deep as an industry standard; we also offer 32mm, 45mm and 64mm pleat depth, depending on the supplier. The bigger the pocket, the more heat it can retain.
Finally, making sure gaps around edges are kept to a minimum helps with heat ingress/ egress. Again, cellular blinds are excellent for this, as the fabric sits underneath a headrail, allowing for more space coverage; you can even cover this gap with side channels for the full “belt and braces” approach; well- hung curtains outside a recess are also a great solution
