The humble roller blind has been around for so many years, people almost dismiss it as a window dressing option. Which is a shame, as it’s quite a versatile product, and suits most budgets.
Offering the broadest range of colours and patterns, a roller blind can be sheer for daytime privacy, translucent for glare/ privacy control and dim-out for room darkening.
Since 2014, when regulations regarding child safety improved dramatically, all control options (on all blinds) are inherently safe, or “safe by design”. The traditional side winder chain will automatically break, should a child become entangles (and can be clipped back together), spring control is inherently safe, as is battery motorisation.
The long held belief that roller blinds are “ugly”, due to the mechanics being on show, is now solved - the cassettes covering the tops, creating a furnished, sleek finish.
So don’t dismiss the roller - there’s more to it than you think.
